Any advice on how to speed up the process of installing WoW onto a new PC?

I finally bought a new PC but now in the process of installing all my games and software. Currently trying to install WoW and its just taking such a long time. Is there any way to speed up the process or do I just have to sit back and let it do its thing?Any advice on how to speed up the process of installing WoW onto a new PC?
My friend usually leaves his over night because of all the patches for the game. I think its about 17gb of files you have to download before you play it, from a fresh install of the game. The only thing that would speed it up, is a fast internet connection.Any advice on how to speed up the process of installing WoW onto a new PC?
do the installs overnight and while ur at work/school. other than that, make sure no other programs are running during the install. not much else u can do. if you happen to have a friend or other computer on a LAN, with the patches on that computer, you could have him/her put them on a shared folder and copy them from that. and external hard drive MAY be faster if the patches are already on that.
Install WoW, Install BC, Install WotLK, then let the updater do it's thing.
