Any advice on how to get a five year old to stop lying?

She never used to lie, Now all of a sudden she lies al the time. Sometimes she blames things on her 3 yr old sister that she does. I can't always tell when she lies. How do I stop this. And how do I punish her when I find out the truth about something days after the incedent?Any advice on how to get a five year old to stop lying?
I think it would help to figure out why she's lying. Is she doing it for attention, to get out of trouble, because it can be fun being ';creative';. Sometimes children lie to gain some sort of control in their own lives. Have you had any major changes in your life? Sometimes kids get frustrated and don't know how to express their frustration, so they end up with ';bad'; behavior. If you can't pinpoint anything that's changed or upsetting in her life then it's probably a phase. My daughter went thru this at 4. After I was sure she really understood what a lie was and it was wrong...she started having consequences. First....don't react! Remain calm. WHenever she told a lie, she would be sent to her room until she could come out and tell the truth. Your right...sometimes it's hard to tell if they are lying....In that case you add ';i'd like to believe you, but you've told too many lies and now I don't trust you. That's what happens when you lie. Now you have to earn my trust back by telling the truth.'; The consequences that work well with my daughter was sending her to bed early with the explanation that only big girls got to stay up ';late';, and big girls don't tell lies. Then we'd tuck her in and leave the room. Whenever I knew she was lying, I'd stop her and tell her she had two choices....start over and tell the truth, or continue the lie and go to bed early. Our phase lasted about 2 months. Good luck.Any advice on how to get a five year old to stop lying?
Your welcome Report Abuse

lies occur when it is discovered that rewards can be gotten for lying. you must make sure she knows there is a penalty that you will consistantly enforce for lying.

This will have one of two results: she will stop lying, or, she will learn to lie really well. Good luck.
Do what my mother did...she either tied me up on a chair or this one time, I broke her favorite vase, and told her out cat did it,she hid a camera...O_Ops
I can't give advise on the punishment but I will say be consistent with the punishment. Don't let her get away with it sometimes and punish her sometimes. She must see that every time she lies she will have to face the consequences. She is old enough to remember what she did or said a week ago. When you find out, talk to her about the lie and punish her as if she just told the lie.
Make sure you are setting a good example. Sometimes it is a stage they go through. Take things away for lying, video games, TV, etc... for a certain amount of time. She will stop when she sees you mean business!!!
Amazon.com seach for ';Sesame Street'; there's a video abotu telling the truth.
whatever you do, do it now before she gets older and it gets worse
Turn it on her. Start using the most blatent lies that you can think of against her and see how she likes it. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind!
5 year olds aren't capable of ';lying';--not as we as adults understand it. They only start to develop a true conscience around puberty.

This is not to say that you shouldn't start to teach her that blaming others for her actions is wrong. Just don't expect it to *fully* take for a number of years!

For now, try to be concrete. Explain to her how her actions of saying something that is not true affects others. Most of the time, this means disappointing you, but there may be other tangible effects as well. If, for example, she tells you that she saw your car keys in the bedroom when they're in the living room, you wasted a lot of time, and now it's too late to stop at the playground on the way home from running errands. (Or whatever.) Try to be specific.
Don't model it.
typical.u just have 2 keep telling this is not OK and there r consequences if she keeps this up.u cant really punish days after the fact because by then...it's way gone and she's forgotten abt it already.she will think it's smthg she did recently and this will only confuse her.good luck!!
What if she were confronted with the truth (not in a harsh way). Then she come to realize that she will be found out.

I'd love to know why they do this.
Show her what will happen if she continues to speak lies. Tell her that one day will come when no one will believe her.

It will be not good to punish a young girl.

Convey my personal message to her.

';IF YOU WANT TO ENJOY YOUR LIFE SPEAK TRUTH.';
If you have a religion, or are open to one, this is the best time to start teaching it to your child.

When my 4 year old boy lies, and boy does he ever, I give him the ';God is watching'; speech. It is hard for a child to understand the difference between right and wrong, but giving them a feeling that nothing goes unseen or unheard may make them think twice before doing something bad in secrecy.

By the way, this has helped me with my biggest problem, my 4 and 3 year old have discovered that they have private areas, and I cannot handle the exploration thing without feeling sick to my stomach.
my daughter was the same way.. and what worked was... she was punished more harshly for her lies then what she had done wrong... she soon learned it didnt pay to lie... and even to this day, shes 17, she tells us the truth even when she knows we will be ashamed or hurt..
i would personally ignore it, i have 4 children and at some time or another they have all told lies and if we all think about it everybody tells little white lies, for children it is there way of being in control especially if you pay attention to it yhey think they will get away with things if they lie so by ignoring them the situation will go.
With my grandson they would reinforce the lying with having things he enjoyed like his X-box taken away or no friends allowed over and not just for an hour or two, but a day or two. Then would give positive reinforcement when he told the truth. He now will come and tell on himself because he knows the consequences are better. Although he still gets reprimanded for what he did and learns from it the punishment is not there.

It works.
One of the main reason is in your question itself:- you said that she never lie, but suddenly she is changing, the same please think yourself also a bit, what have changed from you to her relation with her from previous stage of her not saying lie and now, so it can make her a bit far from you and lead to afraid from you and can say lie.
maybe this is her way of trying to get attention, could be jealous of her younger sister.. you could always go to your local library and find her favorite book or cartoon that talks about it..

Any advice on how to build my own comp the best way and where to get the cheapest yet still good hardware?

I am looking to build my own comp. I already have a tower and monitor and keyboard from desktop that has stop working and instead of buying a new comp I would like to try and build my own. Any one with some advice or a good website to look at? I am also looking to use a free OS any one know some good ones?Any advice on how to build my own comp the best way and where to get the cheapest yet still good hardware?
I would recommend reading the system guide from Ars Technica here http://arstechnica.com/guides/buyer/guid鈥?/a> . It details various configurations based on intended budgets, and makes choosing parts for your new system a lot easier (gives a nice base system).

As for a good, free OS, I would highly recommend Ubuntu, http://www.ubuntu.com/ . You can give it a spin by downloading an installation CD and running it as a ';live cd'; (you run the whole operating system off the CD without using the Hard drive).Any advice on how to build my own comp the best way and where to get the cheapest yet still good hardware?

newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are probably the best places to buy computer parts.

As for tips? There is pretty much a standard procedure on how to build a computer so google around.
Building your own computer is easy and you save a great deal of money. what you put in your comp depends on what you wanna use it for! If you are editing video you will need a hefty machine. If you are building it for audio production you will wanna spec it out! i have a 1.7 ghz p4 with 512 kingston memory and it has been a work horse! Maybe slow for today standards but faster than my mac 2hz duo with 1,ooo ram. It has a duel video card and i added 3 drives to it! Just be sure to use a good power supply that will supply enough juice for you comp. The motherboard i have a ASuS tech p4t-e and has been nothing but great. You can also go into bios and tweak this baby to game! If you are doing high graghics work make sure to get a really good video card , if you don't you may not get to run some programs.

As far as os, it is hard to find free ones. You may find some open source one if you are lucky. Just keep looking.

Any advice for how to change lifestyle habits from too much indulgence and unhealthy ways to an organic, wholesome, peaceful lifestyle without going into shock and withdrawal and giving up? I eat poorly, never exercise, drink alcohol excessively, have insomnia, anxiety, depression and am a workaholic. I want to be healthier, happier, more relaxed, but for some reason making the necessary changes overwhelms me and I don't believe I will be successful because of failed past attempts that I don't even try. I need help finding a realistic easy to transition to plan. Any suggestions?Any advice for how to change lifestyle habits?
First of all if you start eating healthy a lot of your symptions will go away. You need someone with whom you can talk to when you need support. Your body will not go into shock if you adopt this good lifestyle it will be relieved. If you work A lot it should take your mind off of drinking so you have the basics to get started. Apparently you like to stay busy or you would not be a workaholic. Read up on nutrition and eating healthy. Start there and your body will feel better. Then do the rest gradually.

I eat poorly, never exercise have gotten on a eat healthy lifestyle and I now can sleep at night. Find someone that you call call or text or whatever for support and take it seriously.

simple. buy a metal ';bowl'; from the local head shop. Drill a hole in the lid the same size as the bowl's pipe. Epoxy it in. Put a plastic extension hose on the pipe if you want to use water/ice in the sippy cup. vola!Any advice on how to make a bong out of a sippy cup?
I have no idea what a ';BONG'; is, maybe you should include a definition (wink wink)
be careful you don't smoke plastic this happened to a friend of mine and he puked. basicly u need a tube running into the water and a piece to slide into the tube to hold the greenery. they sell kit with both the male and female parts at the head shops.
That is just wrong...esp. since its Pooh...
poke a hole about 2 inches from the bottom. then take a pen and remove the writing part and the little plug at the bottom and stick the tube in the hole you made. now get the top of a 2liter soda bottle and make a hole in that for the bowl head. put the bowl head about 1/8 of an inch onto the pen tube and line it with aluminum foil. pole holes in the foil and enjoy.
    this may cause a rumbly in the tumbly '; O bother';
    Stick it in your anus.
What you should do is fill the sippy-cup with scotch, and get yourself an apple. All you have to do is core out the apple but don't go all the way through, only go half way in. Now on the side of the apple poke a hole in to meet up with the area you just cored out. Dig a little concave indentation to use as the bowl, place your ';tobacco'; or any other smoking media in the bowl, and spark it up! put your lips up to the opening you made earlier and inhale deeply.... hold it.... hold it.... hold it.... and exhale! After you have finished, you may be a bit hungry.....All you have to do is eat the evidence (the apple)
ask your local DEA office for ideas ; )
dude? where did ya find the cup? you don't even have kids? from the alley in the dumpster? dang you are tweakin'!
Oh, Winnie the Pooh? Well in that case...
I got yer sippy cup RIGHT HEAH!!!!!!!
just go buy wraps it easy er you pot head

These 2 websites are really good and will tell you everything :) From my experience I would recommend that you have your tortoise wormed after you get it and then keep checking for parasites regularly (twice a year, a vet can do the check and the worming). They are usually wild caught and in a bad state when they are sold. Mine almost died because it had worms.

Well, you should start by choosing the right colours. Go for darker shades, darker colours will make your boobs appear smaller. Also, choose the right ';cut';. Even bikinis have various cuttings, go for those that appear less revealing, don't show too much of the cleavage when you don't want that attention. Good Luck! Can you give some advice on how to make boobs look smaller when wearing a 2 piece swim suit?
try wearing a top with a full cup. make sure the top is your size not just what fits.

DON'T COVER THEM UP ,BE PROUD SHOW THEM OFF IN A DECENT WAY
Don't mask them! Good lord! Women would die to have some big boobies!
you have a larger chest and you're looking for some more coverage in a swimsuit top (but don't want to look like you're wearing a granny suit!), look for three things: underwire tops, suits that are sold as separates by cup size, and banded halter neck style tops. Waht you need is more support
I'm sorry. I still don't understand why you would want to do that.
Theyhave minimizing tops for bikinis but i promise you, you will appreciate them someday!

Here's what works for my little punkin:

Night-time strength Orajel twice during the day and twice at night if he wakes up

Terry cloth is great for teething because you can wet it down and stick it in the fridge or freezer for a few minutes and then they go to town with them! They really are the best for gnawing on.

There really isn't a lot more that you can do, other than to just give him some TLC. Good luck and I'm right there with ya...my daughter is 8 1/2 months old and cutting tooth number 8!Is there any helpful advice on how to help a teething baby?
    bongela on the gums
My babies loved a cold wet wash clothe to chew on. I wash it really good and put it in a zip lock bag in the freezer for a few minutes. Also remember that teething pain naturally gets worse at night, so ibuprofen 30 min before bed time. For really long nights you can alternate ibuprofen and Tylenol (check with your doc) Ibuprofen is given every 8 hours with Tylenol after the first four hours. Good luck! You'll survive!
A wet wash clothe with an ice cube tied inside it worked with my son.
Yeah, My Son loved the cold washcloth, but he also liked to gnaw on frozen fruits (like cut up bananas or grapes). There are these things you can buy that have a mesh bag attached to a little handle they can hold and you just put the fruit in the mesh bag and screw the handle on. It always helped my son. And if all else fails- the Ibuprofin or teething tablets work great as well. (you can buy the teething tablets or the thing to hold the fruit at Babies R Us- they ALWAYS have them in stock) :)
what i liked to do is give my children a cold wash clothe!!!! Some times I would get the wash clothe damp and the freeze it for the kids!!! this is what my great grandmother told to do and it works!!!
Freeze a wet washcloth and let him chomp on it. Frozen waffles are great for that too if he's old enough. The fingertip tooth brush can be very soothing to a teething gum as well. If the pain is so bad the baby can't sleep or is running a fever try giving him some baby motrin. Just avoid orajel or other things like that. They actually toughen up the gums and make the pain worse and last longer.
I would buy some teething toys or just give your child a cold or warm washcloth so they can put it in their mouth and suck on it a little and it will help.. It helped my nefew..

  • Three point turn, any advice on how to not knock down cones at road test?

When reversing around a cone should I turn the steering wheel all the way in order to turn tighter? My hubby teaches me how to drive but with his law enforcement job I cannot get much practice!Three point turn, any advice on how to not knock down cones at road test?
First off, do not let the 3-point turn intimidate you.

See the videos in the links posted as follows:

    http://www.driving-test-success.com/turn鈥?/a>

    http://www.ehow.com/how_1870_make-three-鈥?/a>

Watch these videos. They should help you with the 3-point turn.

    Steps:

    Step One

With no traffic behind you or coming toward you, turn to the right or left until you are perpendicular to the street. (Make sure you signal)

    Step Two

Put the car in reverse. Back up straight across to the other side of the street as far as possible.

    Step Three

Put the car in drive or, in manual cars, first gear. Check traffic again.

    Step Four

Turn the wheel all the way in the direction you want to go, and step on the gas lightly to complete the turn.

    Step Five

Straighten yourself in the lane and drive away.

    Edit:

    WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!

Can somebody give me advice on how to get over my boyfriend?

Ok so I've been dating this guy for a little over 3 years, we have a child whose going to be one in December. Well I've basically came to the realization that me and him are never going to work out. We argue about everything. So I kind of just want us to go our separate ways, but it seems so hard because I do love him and I don't want to leave him but I know we are not going to work out. So does anybody have any advice on how to get over him? Can somebody give me advice on how to get over my boyfriend?
im not an expert in this i just wanted to say something to jimmy who posted a few posts above this one, IF THE BABY IS GONNA BE ONE IN DECEMBER THEY ALREADY HAD IT SMART ONE!Can somebody give me advice on how to get over my boyfriend?
time is the only thing that works. especially with some much history. im sorry that its not working out i know how painful it can be.
Make a list of reasons why he's not a good fit for you. Every time you think you fantasize about being together, remind yourself of those reasons.

Now, make a list of qualities that you need in a future partner. Every day, think of these reasons--never forget that you need someone who respects you and knows that arguing is not the answer.

Obviously, the fact that you have a child together bonds you two together forever. It'll be a long process, but eventually you'll come to see him as a former lover, and not a perfect fit. Somebody is out there for you. The most important thing now is to remain on good enough terms for your child's sake. I'm sure you'll make it through. =)
The most important person in all of this is the child, and everything should be done to make sure that things remain as near as normal as possible to reduce the child's trauma.

Getting over someone is no where near as easy as it sounds. There's things like the financial side to sort out, where you are going to live, who has custody, and access for the other partner, then of course there is sorting out maintenance for the child.

After all this is sorted, comes the problem of the parents. They need to work together to ensure that the child has the best possible life, and, if the break up has been anything less than amicable, this is not always easy, quite simply because one of the partners (usually the one with custody) can make it bloody awkward for the other.

What you have to remember is that you were adult enough tho fall in love, and create a wonderful child between you. Now you need the same adult response to ensure everything is best for the child, after all, he, or she, should come first, and despite whatever happens in the future, the little one will always be there to remind each of you of their former partner.

Good luck to you both, that you can sensibly sort things out, and that the child has 2 wonderful parents, who even though they are not together anymore, can give him, or her, the best upbringing possible.
Try to work it out. Yall have a Baby on the way
    dont break up wiht him

you have a kid and that would only make it worse for the kid

just try to get along with him and talk to him about how you feel and compromise
u can still be frends n ur gonna have to see him sometimes so just end it on a good note like we both kno this isnt gonna work out but i want us to be frends n on good terms for the sake of our child. i think it will work out that way best.

The distance between villivakkam is around 30kms approx. The best thing would be to take a bus. First take a bus to koyambedu and from there you can come to perungudi. since there are few services directly to perungudi, u can take some connecting buses. goto velachery by taking an M70/D70 and then goto perungudi. Else take a bus to saidapet and from there take an 19B/21H to perungudi,

I have often thought of doing the same. Until I retire, I don't have the time. You might try advertising to find an established author who may be willing to co-write with you to start. Shared revenue, shared learning for you. It's just a thought. Good luck, I will look forward to seeing you in print someday. Take a creative writing course first. Writing the book is only half the battle. You have to sell it to a publisher as well. A Good course will help you with both of these things
buy a ream of pads and a pen and start filling up pages. after about a month, if you have filled up around 3 pads, you can start to enter your stuff into a word processor, but not any sooner.

Can anyone give me advice on how to cheaply post my bulk parcels?

I send approx 50 parcels a week by 2nd class recorded post through Royal Mail and the cost seems to have risen so much lately, so I was wondering if there were any cheaper options or services that people were aware of? I've heard of a few where the parcels are picked up from you, which would be amazing, but I'm not sure what companies provide this sort of service? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Can anyone give me advice on how to cheaply post my bulk parcels?
Xtx's answer sounds good, but you have to be lucky to find something like that - it seems more of a casual arrangement, something that not all hauliers are going to be willing to do. I should also imagine you'd need to have your parcels regularly going to the same places for this to work.

I work for Royal Mail, but I also regularly buy and sell goods online, so I am always looking for the cheapest option. Royal Mail will usually offer the best rates for a casual customer with a small amount of mail like yourself.

I know many couriers do door to door service, including DHL who tend to be expensive, but specialise in next-day delivery, or Royal Mail's ParcelForce, who specialise in bulky items. To get this, you have to pay a bit more. If your items are bulky, ParcelForce is ideal. Its benefits from state-owned status to give a cheaper service, but also its not as efficient. You get what you pay for.

In my experience, as a customer, not an employee, if you just want low priority service, with basic tracking, Royal Mail is the most cost-effective.

Costs have risen, they still rise independently of inflation (meaning jumps are more sudden and noticeable), but the service is still far more cheaper than any other. Its also got 100% coverage across the UK, and worldwide, as a member of the UPU, which is something that most couriers don't have.

Oh, one final thought that I've just had. If you live in one of the major cities, and are only sending within that city, you may find that hiring a biker is more cost-effective, and some couriers specialise in inner-city express delivery. Can anyone give me advice on how to cheaply post my bulk parcels?
    Step 1

Find where the receptionist hid the phone book.

    Step 2

Look up the section that lists businesses for couriers etc.

    Step 3

Try a web search or a phone call to find out the terms on offer.

    Step 4

Give Royal Mail a call and ask if they can beat the quotes you get from UPS TNT FedEx etc then bearing in mind that at least for the moment Royal Mail is 100 per cent UK and not foreign owned, select the service most appropriate to your needs.
    Hello,

If you contact your local courier service, or national for example FedEx or UPS, they will be more than happy to ask you information and sort some contract deal between you both at a cheaper price than Royal Mail. There are a few websites areound, just give them an email for more information!

    http://fedex.com/gb/
i work in an office and we actually use a haulage company. we meet one of the lorry drivers at a bus stop down the road, load him up (above 5-6 parcels) and hey presto. it is miles cheaper! give a couple local companies a phone and get quotes.

    good luck!

I'd estimate you'd need roughly $100,000 to $500,000 to open a business like that and without the right experience, you'd just be flushing that money down the toilet.

First and foremost learn hot keys, it's a lot faster than clicking, since you like to play NE I will focus mostly on them, but I will say the best way to learn everyone's strength and weakness is to play all races, this is why I always play random. I been ranked up as high as 9 in a team latter so I like to think I know what I am saying. Remember one thing, there is no one race that is stronger than the other, there are some that are stronger in certain aspects but like any good Strategy game, it is a paper rock scissors, and on top of this, maintaining your gold/lumber supply and doing good recon is also key to winning.

Nightelf strengths lies Primarily mostly in range and Air, bears and Mountain Giants are good units but the fact is it's a slow tech to get to there, so if you play team games unless your ally is NE too or UD you will probably going range and air.

    Start

For a basic build if I am not rushing or harassing, I like to take my 6th wisp and build a well, and my 7th wisp making my alter, 8th wisp ill build a Tier 1 tree. If I am rushing, I Put 3 wisp on gold and take my other 2 wisp to build a moon/alter, 6th a tier 1 tree and put my next 2 on gold then start putting them on wood. Whichever you do I pretty much get up to 13-15 wisp on wood/gold with 5 food for hero this means your food will be 18-20 and you will need another well built so you can start pumping out units. There really is a lot of variation in your start, some people like to go straight for huntresses, I like to at least get 3 or 4 archers before I get those.

So instead of writing a book on all the different builds and strategies that branches off from this start off I am going to give you a list of units what they are good against and not.

Archers/Hunts - Archers will get owned by Melee but good against air, Huntresses are decent against melee tier 1 but suck against anything Tier3

Dryads - Since magic can't hurt them they are really good anti air against chims/frost dragons and griffs but they die fast and easily against human morts or any other things like catapults. Plus they die fast against melee, so they need to be protected.

Bears - Very good Melee unit but of course weak against air and magic, so if your ally goes heavy on magic air based units, don't rely on them

Mountain Giants - Good survival units and good protection units for your dryads but against a skilled player their taunt isn't as good because a smart player will ignore your slow swinging MG's and move past them to take out your range, if you have 4-5 giant's and rotate taunt around you can help counter that.

Griffons - Great Anti Air unit, except against undead with fiends because they will let them down, same for a orc with lots of raiders, if that is the case then focus on getting dryads for Anti Air. You can also use them to mount archers with, this a strategy that will either save you or kill you, depends how smart your ally is and how fast you get griffon riders.

Chims - They only attack ground so they are best at taking out melee units, that's where most people fail at using them. you need to use chims to kill melee, to many people use chims to kill AA. By killing the ground fast, you allow your melee units to take out the AA. If you have a army of them and have the corrosive acid upgrade you can take out buildings really fast, very nice to running in and taking out a town hall when an army is away, so your allies can't teleport to save their base, by the time most of them run there you can wipe out their base and teleport yourself f back home.

Druids of The Talon - I like to get 1 or 2 because fairy fire is useful in more ways than one, as far as building heavy use of them I don't care much for that unless I was in a all air game which is really rare. Their tornado ability is useful to a degree but I rather build units that kill rather than disable.

Well I hope this is enough to get you started, only thing I can say is keep practicing, the more you play the better you will be.

Do you have any advice for how to deal with weight loss plateaus?

I'm not experiencing one currently but I know I will eventually as most people who have a lot of weight to lose do. Is there anything I can do now to prevent them from happening, and if one does occur, how do I get past it?

Thanks.Do you have any advice for how to deal with weight loss plateaus?
Watch a movie called ';the beautiful truth';. Verify the facts and pay close attention to the details.

Ride a bicycle habitually and you will have your weight loss.

DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING BUT WATER!Do you have any advice for how to deal with weight loss plateaus?
    1. Modify Workout Routine

Your body might have mastered the movements of a particular workout, which you have been doing for a long time. Now that the body has stopped the fat burning process, it is the time to modify the workout, or switch over to another exercise. If you had been doing the same exercises repeatedly, replace them with new ones. For instance, if your body was trained to do cardio, opt for the stair-climber, a rowing machine or a treadmill. This way, you will be able to kick-start the fat burning process once again and break the weight-loss plateau.

    2. Concentrate On Diet

Cut down on your carbohydrate intake. Instead, increase the consumption of multi-grain foods. Stay away from food stuff containing refined sugars, such as pasta, cakes, sweets and white bread. At the same time, increase the daily dose of proteins. Apart from promoting the build-up of strong lean muscle tissues, protein has been proven to be beneficial in accelerating the fat burning process. Instead of eating three heavy meals, eat six smaller meals a day. This will help a great deal in breaking your weight-loss plateau.

    3. Increase Strength

Strength training will increase bone tissue strength, boost the metabolic rate of your body and increase lean mass as well. It helps a great deal in overcoming the weight-loss plateau. Building muscles is vital, because they help the body burn more calories. This further helps in revving up the metabolism rate, once again. Resistance training should be incorporated in your program, if you don't want to go for strength training. To make your body burn more calories, you need to increase your muscle mass. Start weight training for the purpose.

    4. Break Regular Eating Routine

Sometimes, you need to keep your body guessing! It becomes vital, especially when you have hit the weight-loss plateau. When you follow the same diet daily, your body gets used to the said amount of calories and leans to manage in the same. So, break the routine. Instead of consuming the same calories daily, follow the calorie cycling process. For instance, if you have consumed 1500 calories today, take 2100 calories tomorrow. You may switch back to the original intake the following day. By not maintaining the same weekly or daily intake of calories, your body will recognize that the consumption is not same all the time.

    Hope this helps.
Body weight (gain or loss) depends on balance between what u take and what u utilize, utilization of calories intake depends on what is known as basal metabolic rate or energy expenditure, so balanced food intake and suitable exercise (walking is at least), avoiding junk food stuff as it contains high fat contents, your body program its energy expenditure, so if u decrease food intake massively on long term will program your body to utilize the least amount of energy, so any increase in food intake will lead to weight gain, again its a balance between what u eat what u utilize regarding calories
I have been through it all and know what's it about. The main thing is to stick in there. You can't be an addict to food and never exercise if you want to live a healthy life and keep the weight off. I've worked out, done every diet, and all types of classes.

Nothing works, besides dedication and intelligence towards the subject of losing weight.

First, depending on how much weight you need to lose, your diet is the first concern. You can't eat 10,000 calories a day and expect the weight to come off, even if you are exercising a lot. Which brings us to the next thing. Duh, Exercising...

This is a must especially if you need to a lot of weight. Get at least 30 mins of some good hardcore exercising. Do some cardio, in the long run, it's good for the heart.

However, I find the most hardest part of losing weight/keeping it off, in my diet. It's so hard to keep your fingers out of the cookie jar or those chocolate goodies. I've found a great addition to help any one out, it's a natural weight loss supplement called Proactol. Now don't get all crazy on me and say diet pills don't work. That is true, but not in this case. This one isn't meant to burn pounds while you sit on the couch. It's an appetite suppressant, along with being a fat binder. I saved money on the pills at theweightlossplace dot com along with getting some good info. It basically makes those fingers not go towards the cookie jar. For me it's the best pill I've tried and I've tried cupboards full. Now this doesn't mean you have to follow my foot steps but I've successfully lost roughly 70 pounds and keeping it off til this day.

Well good luck and remember what I said, Dedicate.
    Shake things up!

Plateaus are sometimes caused by someone getting sloppy because they feel restricted about their routine/diet.

Treat yourself to something new and different that is not food.

Splurge on some Goofy (Miniature) Golf or an indoor climbing wall.

Go to an indoor roller rink rent some quad skates.

    Go horseback riding.

Just go down to the park and play on the monkey bars.

i dont have a good answer .. i used to have a problem with pigging out and comfort eating and that just stopped working for me when i got to be about 18 and i started packing some pounds on and i just started skipping meals and eating less and paying attention to my metabolism, if its slow i eat less or increase fiber, i also try to do somthing physically active enough to sweat alittle bit at least once a day and i dont have a problem now, i actually have to watch it or i'll lose too much .. it just got to be routine, i dont comfort eat anymore and i actually feel more tired if i eat too much or too often ..it takes awhile though to change your routine around to what works u just have to do it ..
i recently lost 29 pounds and then hit a plateau. it was very frustrating at times. i felt like just quitting because no matter what i did, the weight wouldn't budge. i just changed up my exercise routine and lowered my calories from 1500 to 1200 and today my weight finally dropped. yay. my advice is to just try different things to see what works. you will feel like quitting, but just remember how far you have come and you won't want to mess that up. good luck.
The basics of weight loss are not as complicated as people make it out to be. You need to simply change your diet to healthy whole foods, fruits and veggies and get plenty of exercise.

This is hard to do for most of us because we are tempted with junk foods all the time.

There are a few websites areound, just give them an email for more information!

    http://fedex.com/gb/
i work in an office and we actually use a haulage company. we meet one of the lorry drivers at a bus stop down the road, load him up (above 5-6 parcels) and hey presto. it is miles cheaper! give a couple local companies a phone and get quotes.

    good luck!

    You can't.

I'd estimate you'd need roughly $100,000 to $500,000 to open a business like that and without the right experience, you'd just be flushing that money down the toilet.

Instead, you should approach a franchise, like Coldstone. If you can get financing (doubtful), that is your best bet for success. Can anyone give me advice on how to start a ice cream buisness?

Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with postpardum depression?

Im afraid of what the docter would say or do if I told her I would like to get on pills. I feel Im not the mother I should be because of this stupid depression.I sometimes yell at my son or I get angry and upset when he cries for hours.I feel like a failure.Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with postpardum depression?
Grant yourself permission to take the time you need to become a mother. Pregnancy lasts nine months, the adoption process can take even longer, and your baby’s actual birth is only a moment ⎯ but becoming a mother takes time. Motherhood is an immense responsibility. In my opinion, it is the most overwhelming, meaningful, incredible, transforming experience of a lifetime. No wonder it produces such emotional and physical change!

No other event of this magnitude would ever be taken lightly, so don’t feel guilty for treating this time in your life as the very big deal it is. Remind yourself that it’s okay (and necessary) to focus on this new aspect of your life and make it your number-one priority. Tending to a newborn properly takes time ⎯ all the time in his world. So, instead of feeling guilty or conflicted about your new focus, put your heart into getting to know this new little person. The world can wait for a few weeks.

Consider as objectively as you can just what you have accomplished: You have formed a new, entire person inside your own body and brought him forth; you have been party to a miracle. Or, if you've adopted, you've chosen to invite a miracle into your life and became an instant mother. You deserve a break and some space in which to just exist with your amazing little one, unfettered by outside concerns.

    Talk to someone who understands.

Talk to a sibling, relative or friend with young children about what you are feeling. Someone who has experienced the baby blues can help you realize that they are temporary, and everything will be fine. A confidante can also serve as a checkpoint who can encourage you to seek help if he or she perceives that you need it.

    Reach out and get out.

Simply getting out (if you are physically able and okayed for this by your health care provider) and connecting with people at large can go a long way toward reorienting your perspective. Four walls can close in very quickly, so change the scenery and head to the mall, the park, the library, a coffeehouse ⎯ whatever place you enjoy. You’ll feel a sense of pride as strangers ooh and ahh over your little one, and your baby will enjoy the stimulation, too.

    Join a support group.

Joining a support group, either in person or online, can help you sort through your feelings about new motherhood.

Take care to choose a group that aligns with your core beliefs about parenting a baby. As an example, if you are committed to breastfeeding, but most other members of the group are bottlefeeding, this may not be the best place for you, since your breastfeeding issues won’t be understood and you won’t find many helpful ideas among this group. If you have multiples, a premature baby, or a baby with special needs, for example, seek out a group for parents with babies like yours. And within those parameters, look for a group with your same overall parenting beliefs. Just because you all have twin babies doesn’t mean you will all choose to parent them in the same way, so try to find like-minded new friends.

    Accept help from others.

Family and friends are often happy to help if you just ask. When people say, “Let me know if I can do anything” they usually mean it. So, go ahead and ask kindly for what you want, whether it’s watching your baby so that you can nap, taking your older child to the park, helping you make a meal, or doing some laundry.

    Get some sleep.

Right now, sleeplessness will enhance your feelings of depression. So, take every opportunity to get some shuteye. Nap when the baby sleeps, go to bed early, and sleep in later in the morning if you can. If you are co-sleeping, take advantage of this special time when you don’t have to get up out of bed to tend to your baby. And if your baby’s sleep patterns are distressing to you then reach out to an experienced parent for help, or check out my book The No-Cry Sleep Solution: Gentle Ways to Help Your Baby Sleep Through the Night.

Don’t fret about perfection right now.

Household duties are not your top priority now ⎯ in fact, nothing aside from getting to know your baby is. Remember that people are coming to see your baby, not your house, so enjoy sharing your baby with visitors without worrying about a little clutter or dust. Simplify, prioritize, and delegate routine tasks, errands, and obligations.

    Enjoy your job.

If you work outside the home, then view your time at your job as an opportunity to refresh and prepare yourself to enjoy your baby fully when you are at home. Go ahead ⎯ talk about your baby and share pictures with your co-workers. Chances are, they’ll love to hear about your new little one. This is a nice and appropriate way of indulging your natural instincts to focus on your baby when you can’t be with her.

    Get into exercising.

With your health care provider’s approval, start exercising with short walks or swims. Exercise will help you feel better in many ways both physical and emotional. Even if you didn’t exercise before you had your baby, this is a great time to start. Studies prove that regular exercise helps combat depression, and it will help you regain your pre-baby body much more quickly.

    Eat healthful foods.

When the body isn’t properly nourished, spirits can flag ⎯ particularly when the stress of recovery makes more nutritional demands. If you are breastfeeding, a nourishing diet is important for both you and your baby. Healthful foods, eaten in frequent meals, can provide the nutrition you need to combat the baby blues and give you the energy you need to handle your new role. And don’t forget to drink water and other healthy fluids, especially if you’re nursing! Dehydration can cause fatigue and headaches.

    Take care of yourself.

Parenting a new baby is an enormous responsibility, but things will fall into place for you and everything will seem easier given time. During this adjustment phase, try to do a few things for yourself. Simple joys like reading a book, painting your nails, going out to lunch with a friend or other ways in which you nourish your spirit can help you feel happier.

    Love yourself.

You are amazing: You’ve become mother to a beautiful new baby. You’ve played a starring role in the production of an incredible miracle. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished, and take the time to know and enjoy the strong, capable, multifaceted person you are becoming.Does anyone have any advice on how to deal with postpardum depression?
Get help now! I was depressed after my second child was born. I am very lucky my husband was so keyed into it and he and I talked about it a lot and we went together and talked with my doctor. I missed out on some of my little girls life. I just wanted to lay around all day. I would not get dressed and cried all the time for months. Please talk to your spouse, a close friend, or a parent. You have already taken a step here. I wish you lots of luck.

If you would like you can e-mail me ab3mom@yahoo.com
I had it for about 3 weeks, and then it went away on it's own. By your 6 week checkup it should be gone, and if it isn't tell your doctor. This is totally normal though. You are not a failure. Our hormones affect us so much and you aren;t in control of your emotions. Hopefully you have a lot of support around you, dont be afraid to talk about the way you are feeling an ask for help.
Postpartum depession is normal for some women, from what you are telling, you need some pills to help you out. Dont worry about what your doctor will think of you. the way you are now is hurting not only yourself but the baby also. In the mean time try to get someone to help you out around the house and with the baby. take a walk, or just a warm bath. Don't feel guilty about having to put the baby in a safe place while you relax for a few min. Talk to your doctor he/she wont look down on you for getting some help.
I recently started taking pills for PPD. They do help and while i was afraid to see my doctor, he was very supportive. But remember that exercise and social support eg counselling, mothers group supportive family/friends are also vital in recovery. If your doctor wont help then find someone who will.
Don't be scared you can ask your Doctor she will most likely be happy your smart enough to ask for them pills on your own. This is not your fault you can't control it and your not a failure. Do what you have to do to enjoy being a mommy.
TELL THE DOCTOR! They don't judge you! They see this all the time! That is why they tell you to tell them! It happens to more moms than you think! If you feel this way you have to tell someone who can help. Reach out to your spouse, your mom, anyone you trust. Please, your baby needs you to do this, but you need to do it for yourself, too.
First you are NOT a failure. Second you are not the first and will not be the last mother to yell at her baby.

Doctors take any indication of PPD very seriously, you need to talk to your doctor and tell her everything. She can and will help you.
Do not worry about what the doctor would say or do. Make an appointment and be honest about he severityof your symptoms. Everyone gets the baby blues to some extent. You are not alone. Is there anyone who could come over and let you get a nap or a shower while they care for your baby?

Does your son have colic, or is he having teething pain? Hylands makes a like of homeopathic pills that are wonderful for curing both maladies. Stopping the constant crying might go a long way towards helping your stress and frustration level. It is normal to get really exhausted and angry when a baby cries for hours on end. Try taking him on a car ride, running the vacuum, putting his carrier on top of the washer.

This stage doesn't last forever. Hang on!
your not a failure as a mother don't listen to tom cruise lol call your doctor he can put you on something until you feel better if you don't wanna take anything try joining a mommy group or talk to other mothers with young children congrats and good luck
You are not a failure at all. You are a good parent as you are seeking help SO GOOD FOR YOU. Medication is the right way too go. It is a chemical inbalance you are suffering from with PND and medicaton will fix it all and you will be a new woman and be able to deal with things better. Do not be embarrassed. The pills are not forever and your doctor will be happy you came to her/him. Go tomorrow you won't regret it
I always found that Prayor works better then drugs
Doctors, especially OB/GYNS are trained to deal with this and they do not think that you are a failure. Look at Brooke Shields...even she had a problem with this, and she is a great mother.

What can you do between your weekly sessions to help yourself get somewhat more better??Any advice and help would be greatly received.Advice on How to keep motivated with CBT sessions?
I would suggest making having fun a top priority and putting a fixed amount of time aside each night to relax without going on the computer. also, forcing yourself to do things you're uncomfortable with (no matter how little) will do a great deal for your subconscious at the end of the day.

Help! I've got a photoshoot in a week and I've just broke out with spots any advice how to get rid of them?

I've got a photo-shoot and I've just got a lot of spots on my forehead and nose. I've tried lots of creams and gel washes to get rid of them but they're not working. PLEASE HELPHelp! I've got a photoshoot in a week and I've just broke out with spots any advice how to get rid of them?
First of all, don't touch your face coz they spread so easily like that, and don't pick them. Don't eat junk like chocolate coz that won't help either. Don't wear so much make-up and if you do, thoroughly wash it off in the evening. Apparently changing your pillows often can reduce spot outbreaks on your face

I use 'freederm' gel and it really works, they go down overnight!

Doctors advise you go on the pregnancy pill to get rid of acne, and a few of my friends have done that and they have nearly completely gone without a trace!

Hope this helped. :]Help! I've got a photoshoot in a week and I've just broke out with spots any advice how to get rid of them?
In the mornings, start by applying TCP onto your face. leave for 30 minutes or so, then wash it off. Use a good exfoliating facial wash. then cleanse, tone and moisturise. Wear either no make up on your face, or if you have to (your going out somewhere and want to look nice) use mineral foundation. Eat lots of fruit and drink water. I guess if this all fails, pile on the foundation on the day of the shoot, its what its for. :) Good Luck :)
Eek ! That's really unfortunate! Take really excellent care of your skin this week. Book yourself in for a full on facial. Don't use any make-up on your skin and do a cleanse-tone-moisturise routine twice a day. Try a product that will dry up the spots like Clearasil.

    Good luck !!
okay first things first, key rule: keep your hair off your face!

    wash your face regularly

    use blackhead clearing cleanser

use a spot treatment to target directly on particular spots

avoid wearing makeup so your pores are clean.

    hope this helps

Wash your face twice a day with just water, and get a q tip and dab some diluted hydrogen peroxide on the spots and put tea tree oil on the spots but make sure you use moisturizer too. It worked for me

Advice on how to get a HEALTHY energy boost?

My day starts at 5 in the morning; when I get home from school in the afternoon I'm completely exhausted and usually take a good 3 hour nap. NOT good considering I have to stay up 'til midnight or later to finish all the work I have to do. How do I keep my energy up to stay awake the whole day?Advice on how to get a HEALTHY energy boost?
You're going to have to tough it out for about two days and not take any naps when you get home. Then around 9 pm go lay down and fall asleep. You might have to take some Tylenol PM if you can't fall asleep, but only for a day or two. That way you'll get 8 hours of sleep. It is really hard to go to bed early though.Advice on how to get a HEALTHY energy boost?
B vtamins! the body is so efficient in these and it's important to supply it. Vitamins b3, b6, and especially b12 are highly demanding of your body. don't be afraid that you might take too much. if you take in an eccess amount, you'll shed it in your urine.
herbs like ginseng or guarana might help.
I've found two things that boost my energy considerably.

Vitamin B-12, take 1 to 2 thousand milligrams daily. B-12 is destroyed by stomach acids so it is best taken in a melt in your mouth tablet form so it is absorbed directly into the blood stream.

    Second, I take Co-Enzyme Q-10, 120mg daily.

These two items, available in most health food and supplement stores have returned to me at 51 the energy and vigor I had in my twenties. Good luck to you.

Can anybody give me some advice how to get rid of frogs at a fish pond?

i don't want to kill them or empty the pond but they just don't quit croaking so what can i do - please help? Can anybody give me some advice how to get rid of frogs at a fish pond?
Get rid of the fish, and you will have a beautiful frog pondCan anybody give me some advice how to get rid of frogs at a fish pond?
Seems nature fanatics scout online frog questions to respond with ridiculous answers. Just to make people feel bad.

Homeowners spend thousands of $ building and maintaining their pools; they have a right to swim in their own disease-free pool. Frogs are not endangered, especially when a single one can lay 10,000 eggs!

Keep pool water PH balanced, 7.2 to 7.4 %26amp; frogs will stay away. Always shock pool with liquid chlorine after rain. Frogs habituate to higher chlorine so important thing is PH balance.

For floating spawn, skim and dump in a plastic grocery bag and dump in garbage. Vacuum to get spawn that sunk to the pool floor. Let the filter %26amp; chlorine do the rest, as long as there's a PH balance.

Hi Cheri, I can understand your problem only too well. When still on the farm, we had a big dam and it was full of platannas. When the dam became too dry in summer, they just hopped up the hill and made themselves comfortable in our swimming pool. I actually think that this all was happening long before we moved onto the farm.

The problem with frogs is, that they always come back to mate and lay their eggs where they were born themselves. So, if your frogs were born in the fish pond, then they are going to come back every year to continue their cycle.

We used to have frog catching competitions, the children and their friends enjoyed it. Then we would clear all their muck out of the pool, pump in fresh water and add chlorine. It was a matter of 2 or 3 days and the frogs were back. Within a few weeks the pool water was black with all their excretions.

And, we did not set the frogs free in OUR dam. No, we used to take them with when we took the children to school in Gordon麓s Bay and empty our buckets in another farmers dam, at least 3 km away. I am convinced that the bliksems found their way back ';home'; again.

In the end we gave up, and planted water lilies, waterblommetjies and grasses and the dogs used it as their swimming pool. The children did not like to swim there with the frogs.

Here in Germany, when one has frogs in the pond, then one is not allowed to remove them again. They are protected. So, I advise you check with the authorities, before you have some neighbour suing you for cruelty to animals.

Your only resort will be to get some fish that eat frogs or the frogs麓 eggs, like bass or trout. Maybe Vango has more info on other predators

    .
Phone the French Consul General. They will come and eat them.
we'll i was going to say get poison but since you don't want to kill them. I dont really think you can make them stop croaking because thats what frogs do but maybe you can take something they really like and set it up somewhere far away from the pond and i dont kno maybe they will run after it or something
That's easy get a Frenchman to move in and he can create the most appetizing delights like Ella fried foggie legs or la frog Casserole and for desert you could have le chilled frog-lets and ice creme.Jokes aside there is nothing you can do, as croaking frogs are as natural as the blue skies above you, just grin and bear it and please don't kill them or worse to actually eat them.
Ag man leave them alone! They won't harm the fish and they eat a lot of unpleasant goggas. The only thing, and I don't know where you are in SA, but frogs may bring snakes- especially a Green Mamba or a rinkhals- both fond of frogs! You could hire some French people to come and braai their legs as well.

One suggestion would be to buy some kind of garden sculpture resembling a crane, it might scare them off..... Personally I miss the frogs and crickets at night, and the fireflies....
I for one love them ! Living on the farm in today's time of farm attacks it is the one thing attackers can't do about and simply forget about and that is frogs ! They tend to go silent if something moves close by ! For us it's a early warning signal !
You created a habitat..and they came. You can't pick and choose what comes to live in your pond. Be thankful you have a sound of nature ( croaking ). You could be lving in a big city with all kinds of irritating noises. Give the little guys a break..they aren't hurting you and they are part of the big scheme of things on this earth. Plus they are keeping down your bug population.

Advice on how to sell a home fast in a tight real estate market?

I really need to get rid of this house fast.....does anyone know anything about auctions or companies that advertise to sell your home fast.Advice on how to sell a home fast in a tight real estate market?
The quickest way to sell a house is by pricing it below market value. The companies that buy houses don't wait for you to determine a below value price on your own and instead they prod you to find out your loan amount and offer you a few grand more if you don't owe too much. Auctioning can be exactly what you need to do because you can determine a bottom line price and have a chance at finding a buyer who might likely pay more on a predetermined date and time. The downside is that auction companies often make you pay for advertising upfront (but not always)Advice on how to sell a home fast in a tight real estate market?
with the market not being the greatest it does make it difficult to sell your home quickly.. you want to see how much the homes are going for in your neighborhood and sell it below the market value.. not sure if thats what you want to do but it will sell the house quicker.. found some information about selling your home.. good luck

    http://www.obxrubert.com/PageManager/def鈥?/a>

    http://www.obxrubert.com/
I know about auctions. You need to contact your local real estate brokerages and ask if they have an auctioneer. When you find one, make an appointment and get all the details. They can basically guarantee a sale but not a price. They can estimate how much your property will bring at auction. There are some variations. You will need to get educated on the variations.
If you price your house below comparable homes in the area, you will sell it quicker. Best thing is to sell at a great price. That is the best way to move a house fast.
    connect with local brokers
Contact the people at HouseBuyerNetwork.com to see if they have coverage in your area or not. If they do, they will put you in touch with a quick sale agent who will sell your house quickly. Some even have a buy back guarantee if they are unable to sell it outright. They also have professional home buyers who can purchase in as little time as a week. There is no fee for you the homeowner.

    Good Luck!
your real estate company might buy your house if the price is right.............
    lower your price
You shouldn't be thinking about auction right now, that's after the foreclosure process.

Get with a good COMPETENT Realtor you feel comfortable with and knows what they're doing to represent you. The MLS exposure will be your best advertising and should you get offers or sell, it'll be because of that.

Make sure the home is really showable. Clean clean CLEAN, make it look as unlived in and immaculate as possible and SMELLS GREAT. Put all the kitchy little knick nack s**t away, hanging towels in the bathroom, as well as majority of very prominent personal photos.

PRICING. In this market, be realistic. Price it well, low price per sq. foot compared to your competition (make sure you get a CMA from your Realtor)

A slightly higher co-op for buyers agent may help catch the attention of buyers agent and put you above the similar competition in your area. List for 4% commission to buyers agent instead of 3%. Good incentive.
Homes aren't moving too fast in this market... too much inventory. Unless you are selling below market, it's tough. Even below market homes (foreclosures, short sales) are stagnant right now.

Check with local realtors and see what they think.

Advice on how to stand our at an audition for a school play?

The play is Ash Girl by Timberlake Wertenbaker (a version of Cinderella where the characters have deeper personalities) and I'm going for a minor speaking role, either one of the stepsisters or one of the seven deadly sins. I have two possible scripts to read, one for the sisters which is easier to read and one for a sin which is difficult but I guess less people will audition for.. Which one should I read? And how can I stand out, because I know lots and lots of people are auditioning. If any one knows the play or has been the director/casting judges of a play before I would be grateful for your opinions. ThanksAdvice on how to stand our at an audition for a school play?
I think you stand out by being the best prepared. Know the show, know the character you want, and commit 100% to it when you start. Make them feel it. Pull them into your world so that when you're done it takes them a minute to realise that you're done and they're back in the school auditorium...

break a leg!Advice on how to stand our at an audition for a school play?
I found an article on ';How to Get a Part in a School Play'; here: http://www.wikihow.com/Get-a-Part-in-a-S鈥?/a>

    I hope it helps.

    Good luck.
    It's called talent.
Make sure your speaking is clear and concise, and also make sure you know the part well. good luck anyway.
Do which ever one you can connect to more. Go all out in your audition and don't hold back. That will make you stand out.
read the answer I gave the gal two questions before yours, that will make you stand out!
I like the answer above. Yes, you want to be comfortable with the role you decide, and dressing the part for your audition shows that you are dedicated and determined. also, remember to relax, concentrate, and don't be afraid to show emotion and body movement during your audition. Embrace it!
read the one that feels most comfortal to you, and dress as though you are ready for the part.
stand there with nothing on that should get you noticed

I have two older cats that I need to find a good home for, any advice on how to find their new home?

I just moved from San Francisco to NY and can no longer have my cats. They are about 8 yrs old and so sweet and affectionate.

I want to find them a good home and avoid taking them to a shelter. I have asked around to some people I know in NY but am not getting much of a response. Any ideas on where to go?I have two older cats that I need to find a good home for, any advice on how to find their new home?
You can look up foster care groups in the area and see if they have room to take 2 adult cats.

I must say though it is disappointing to hear people talking about how they ';can no longer'; keep their pets because of moves, or whatever. A responsible pet owner doesn't just give away their pets whenever it has become inconvenient for them....a good pet owner makes arrangements that also includes the pets. If you're moving, then you find a pet-friendly area to move to, etc. Pets these days are just thrown away too easily and it is sad.I have two older cats that I need to find a good home for, any advice on how to find their new home?
Advertise, but be careful they don't end up with someone who will sell them for experimentation. Please can't you keep them!! They will miss you so much and they won't understand what has happened to them. Ask around where you go to work or school. You may find a no kill shelter.I am sorry, this makes me very sad.
Yes, your cats will really miss you. Did you know animals have a time for sorrow too? They will be sad. I suggest you move to another apartment and stick with them! Aww, l feel so bad for you! Please, find a way to keep them. If not, then give them to a family, a friend, or a family friend. If they won't take in either, then a NON-KILL Shelter is the best bet.

l will pray for your kitties, and GOOD LUCK!!!

Can anyone offer any home remedies or advice on how to make sure one's bladder empties completely.?

I don't want to be told to see a doctor. I do not have the money for that. Sometimes simple home remedies help. I'm hoping someone else who experiences the same problem might know of something to bring relief. Can anyone offer any home remedies or advice on how to make sure one's bladder empties completely.?
Drink cranberry juice, try to get the one with less sugar. You can also use the cranberry pills, like they're more concentrated. Try the juice first, and drink water, or tea.Can anyone offer any home remedies or advice on how to make sure one's bladder empties completely.?
I don't think it's healthy to have a completely empty bladder; as it would mean your body is no longer digesting anything (and in turn you're going into starvation mode).

  • Does anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?

I need help to get my shepherd to stop digging. I am getting to the end of my rope. He is a great dog otherwise but he is digging in my lawn and in my flower beds. I put a lot of effort in looking after my yard and he is not going to wreck it. We live on an acreage and he gets attention but I don't know what his problem is. I have had a few dogs and even another shepherd but never one that dug, well in my yard anyway. I want to put gravel or cement in the dog run but can't decide what is better any ideas. I hope somebody has went through the same thing and has a cure because he is driving me nuts. Desperate for help before he destroys everything! ThanksDoes anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?
I have Bloodhounds. Part of my yard looks like a missle test site. Can you confine him to one area and let him dig to his heart's content? Don't leave him outside all day. Some dogs get bored and this is entertainment.Does anyone have advice on how to get my dog to stop digging?
Take your dog's feces and put it in the holes he has dug, and cover them up - it works!
To Get You're Dog To Stop Digging It Is Best To Tell Him ';No'; Every Time You See Him To Start Digging And Then You Have To Destract Him With A Toy And Bring Out The Ball Or Chew Toy Or Even A Tug O' War Rope.
You shouldn't keep your dog out too long. Just take your dog out for a few minutes. Keep you dog on a leash so it won't go in a spot and dig a hole.
I would find out why he is digging. If he is digging to get cool then offer him something else to cool him down. If it's because he is bored then offer him something else to do. I would think the spicy powder would help. I put tabasco sause on my dinner plate over night to keep my dog off the table. Worked like a charm. Stuff as potent as that the dogs can smell and they will avoid. I am not sure if the buring pooh will work since some dogs eat it. Good luck.
Try putting Black Pepper on the ground. Or try ground Hot Peppers, something spicy. Just sprinkle it on the ground and he should stop digging. He'll just start sneezing! LOL!
in the spots where he digs put Cheyenne pepper (i think that's what it's called) in before you cover the hole and he won't dig there anymore.

    1) The Denning Instinct: Evolution has provided dogs with an instinct to dwell in a protected area. If such shelter is not provided, the dog will dig to obtain it.

    2) Temperature Control: In extreme environments, dogs may use earthen dens to control body temperature. Some dogs dig dens to stay warm in the winter and cool in the summer. Providing a protected, warm area in the winter and plenty of liquids, shade and occasional sprays with water in the summer can help eliminate this need to dig.

    3) Hunting: Some dogs, such as terriers, are relentless diggers. Such breeds have evolved to use digging as an essential part of their hunting repertoire. Underground there are

countless bugs, dead animals, old trash pits and live game.

    4) Self Care: Occasionally digging will be an instinctive expression of self-care, such as stashing bones or surplus food. This behavior keeps the dogs' living areas clean and prevents interference from scavengers.

    5) Exploration and Territoriality: Dogs often dig because of their instinct to explore. There is a high survival value associated with being intimately familiar with the territory. Thus, dogs may dig to locate potentially dangerous or useful items. This usually is a temporary phenomenon; however, owners should try to avoid ground disturbances because they may elicit additional investigations.

    6) Mimicry: The technical term for this is ';allelomimetic behavior.'; Dogs often will imitate other animals, as well as people.

    7) Reproductive Behavior: Walker explains that females in the wild will dig series of dens. This nesting behavior is quite common, and providing a proper whelping box typically will address this sort of digging. Dogs also may dig to escape from the yard and attempt mating. Neutering, of course, provides a permanent solution for this digging.

    8) Aggressiveness and Frustration: Digging, especially at a fence or gate, usually is associated with frustration. Being pack animals, dogs want to join others (human or canine) and feel stressed by their isolation and confinement. Male dogs also may display aggression in response to human teasing or canine challenges. Neutering may help reduce this intermale aggression in some cases. Restricting the dog's mobility in order to avoid close proximity to gates or fences also may be helpful, as would persuading your neighbors to stop their children or dogs from teasing your dog.

    9) Social Interaction Needs: Some dogs require a home range much larger than a fenced-in yard can provide, and they may attempt to escape simply to increase social contact. Walks, a canine companion and a fence that allows a greater range of visibility may help. Smaller breeds, spayed females and older dogs may be more appropriate for limited ranges, and neutering may be considered for males that wander continually.

    10) Attention-Seeking Behavior: Digging, as a random exploratory behavior, may become an entrenched habit if a dog is ';rewarded'; with considerable negative attention because of its digging. Ignoring the digging while giving positive attention for an incompatible desirable behavior generally is the best approach. Barrier techniques also might be used in conjunction with this form of contingency management. Many barrier approaches exist, such as filling the hole with water, rocks, the dog's own feces, thorny branches, repellents, fencing, chicken wire or cactus plants.
I actually just saw this on HGTV. The best way to get your dog to stop digging or destroying plants is to spray the areas with pepper spray. Not the kind you would mace someone with, but an actual kind you can get from the Plant Store. It's mixed with water, doesn't kill plants, and will keep dog and cats away from your plants. Another way to get them to stop digging is to use the wooden mulch chunks around the plants. The wooden mulch is uncomfortable for them to dig at, so they tend to leave it alone, and it still allows your plants to grow.
Try like tellin it too stop if that doesnt work then spank him or hit or scream at him if he does it again it worked with my uncle's dog
